Teller Wildlife Refuge sprawls out along over 4 miles of the Bitterroot River, one of Montana's premier trout rivers. The Refuge is comprised of 1,200 acres of farmland and river bottom dedicated to the conservation of western Montana's finest native riparian habitat. Whitetail deer, moose, red foxes, coyotes, porcupines, marmots, beaver, otter, muskrats and many smaller mammals enjoy a landscape managed for biodiversity. Three species of trout lurk in our waters, which include several spring creeks where guest hone their skills. (from Cheney’s Names on the Face of Montana, Mountain Press Publishing Company)
