Harrison to Cardwell
This ride starts in Harrison, located 35 miles north of Ennis, a popular
outfitting location for Madison River flyfishing trips. If you have extra time on your hands, make the six-mile side trip - by bike
or by car - from Harrison southwest to the old mining town of Pony. You can
also find the crumbling remains of the Morris & Ellings Gold Stamp Mill.
Location: Near Ennis
Type: Road Ride (with some graded gravel)
Rating: Experienced
Mileage: 15 miles
The ride is predominantly downhill as described. If you're looking for more
of a workout, simply do it in the other direction, from Cardwell to Harrison.
The rural setting encompasses ranches and log yards, as well as close-up views
of rugged, desert-like slopes and long-range vistas of the grand Tobacco Root
Mountains.
