The Helena Regional Airport serves Montana's capital city and much of southwestern Montana. The Airport is located in the eastern quadrant of the City of Helena, just east of Interstate 15 between the Cedar Street and Custer Avenue (currently under construction) exits. Delta, United and Alaska Airlines provide air service with direct flights to four hubs (Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver and Minneapolis). Terminal services include Captain Jack's Bistro, five car rental agencies and a business center. Short-term parking east of the terminal is free and long-term parking features the lowest airport parking rates in Montana. Free internet service is provided throughout the terminal and complimentary newspapers are available for boarding passengers.
The Helena Airport is very user-friendly toward corporate and general aviation. The Airport has three runways plus a grass landing strip. Aviation services include an FAA Air Traffic Control Tower, Exec Air Montana (full service fixed base operator with extensive charter and fueling services), four aircraft maintenance facilities, a flying club and a number of other small aviation-related businesses. Boeing Aerospace has a large manufacturing plant related to their 787 and 747-800 aircrafts production on the Airport.
The Helena Regional Airport is also home to the Helena National Forest Service Supervisor's and District Ranger's offices, Homeland Security, FAA Airports, FAA FSDO, Lee Enterprises and Costco Wholesale. The Montana National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility located adjacent to the Airport operates a large number of helicopters, including the large Chinook helicopter. The Rocky Mountain Emergency Services Training Center (RMESTC), owned and operated by the Helena Regional Airport Authority, serves the northwest by providing aviation fire training for many airports. The RMESTC also has a large driving track that is used for a variety of training disciplines.
