Flathead Lake Sailing and Charters

about

  • Glacier
  • Boat Charter
Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana is 28 miles long, 15 miles wide and bordered by beautiful mountains. It is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Great Lakes. Given its sheer size and proximity to the mountains, winds on Flathead Lake are mostly predictable and make for amazing sailing experiences.

It’s a long way from Marblehead Massachusetts to Bigfork, Montana but through a series of funny stories, hard work and lots of restoration hours the only two Q-Class Sloops designed by the famous L. Francis Herreshoff call Montana home. Built in 1928 and 1929 the Questa and Nor’Easter V offer a sailing experience unlike any other.

Join us for a daily sail, private charter, sunset & champagne sail or bring all your friends and charter both boats for an afternoon of friendly racing.

The Mustang is a 50’ 1960’s Chris Craft which was moved from Gig Harbor Washington, to Flathead Lake and completely restored. Enjoy cruising the lake, viewing the massive homes and views of Glacier National Park with up to 45 people on board! Food and beverage service is available and makes the perfect vessel for a family reunion, rehearsal dinner or company party.

The sporty Stan Craft is actually a 1960’s U.S. Coast guard design, and one of Stan Craft's first forays into fiberglass boat making. Originally started on the West short of Flathead Lake, Stan Craft continues to produce some of the highest end wood powerboats available today. With room for 18, the Flathead River trip is always a favorite, allowing for a unique change in scenery and great Bald Eagle and Osprey viewing.

For over 30 years Flathead Lake Sailing & Charters has been the charter services for historic Flathead Lake Lodge. Creating lasting memories, first class service and personal hospitality are at the core of how we operate. We look forward to helping create an amazing experience for you on Flathead Lake!
