About The Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture, a thriving nonprofit community art center one block from downtown Bozeman, is a primary resource for the arts, art education and cultural activities in southwest Montana. Browse our galleries, shop, dine or attend an event in one of our three public spaces available for rent. Galleries: The Emerson displays art exhibits in three contemporary venues: The Jessie Wilber Gallery featuring the work of contemporary Montana artist has been voted best art gallery by Bozeman residents for two years in a row, and is free and open to the public Monday - Friday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10 am to 3:00 p.m. The Lobby features the varied works of talented artists. The Weaver Room features the work of local and student artists. Education Classes: Frances Senska Pottery Studio provides students of all ages an opportunity to study ceramics. Classroom 219 is the home for multimedia children and adult education classes. Shopping: Galleria Hall is a collection of six retail art galleries that feature the works of more than 100 Montana artists. These galleries include: The Artists' Gallery Beaucoup Gallery & Framing Emerson Grill Montana Panoramic Gallery Oh Susanna's Jewelry Art Tenants: Forty tenants, painters, writers, yoga teachers, West African drummers, dancers, filmmakers, photographers, music instructors and designers all find their creative home in this charming 1918 brick school building which is listed on the National Register of Historic places. Public Space for rent: Crawford Theatre: This 720 seat theatre is ideal for concerts, performances or weddings. Ballroom: The ballroom is the perfect venue for wedding receptions, fundraisers, dances, dinners and more! With a built-in bar, stage, hardwood floors, catering kitchen (complete with warming oven commercial refrigerator & freezer, steel counters and washing area), tables and chairs, you have all you need in one historic place! Capacity: 250+ people seated; 600 stadium style or standing. Weaver Room: The Weaver Room is the perfect venue for Board Meetings/retreats, lectures, slide shows, rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, Memorial Services, Bridesmaid luncheons, Bridal showers or Baby Showers! Capacity: 70 people. Community Events: ArtWalk: Every second Friday from 6-8 pm regional artists are featured in the Jessie Wilber, Weaver Room, Lobby Gallery and Galleria Hall. Lunch on the Lawn: Food, live music and activities for adults and children. Wednesdays 11:30 am-1:30 pm, July 11-August 22. Garden & Home Tour - Self-guided tour of Gallatin Valley's homes of architectural interest and inspiring gardens. Halloween Open House - Safe, family-friendly, fun trick-or-treating. Christmas Stroll - Bozeman's premier winter festival in historic downtown Bozeman. The Emerson hosts family-friendly activities all day, including gingerbread house construction, wreath-making classes, cookie decorating, and a visit from Santa. There are arts and crafts throughout the whole building with our tenants.
