Long considered a symbol of the west, the grizzly bear is making a come-back thanks to efforts to preserve and recover this threatened species. Grizzly populations in Montana range in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem as well as northwestern Montana in the greater Glacier ecosystem and the Bob Marshall Wilderness area. Keep your eyes peeled for this elusive giant and remember, if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a grizzly the best place to be is at a safe distance. |
