SPECIAL DIRECTIONS FROM GREAT FALLS, Montana: Take HWY 87 north, go through the town of Loma. Go 12 miles past Loma, and after passing mile post 66, take the next gravel road to your right. There are 2 signs at this turn off. Our sign says: VIRGEGLLE MERC & ACCOMMODATIONS 8 miles. BLM also has a sign for directions to Coal Banks Landing. Follow this gravel road to the river bottom, when you pass through a concrete underpass go right 1/8 mile to Virgelle. (1 and ½ hours travel time) If coming from Havre, follow Highway 87 past Big Sandy about 7 miles to a turn-off marked Virgelle. Turn left onto a gravel road, follow it about 8 miles to the Virgelle Mercantile, which will be on the left.
