Since our founding in 2004, we at the Flathead Lake Brewing Co. have had three primary ambitions. The first: to brew the best beer in Montana. The second: to nurture a maturing beer culture and palate. And finally: to build community-based relationships.
One might ask why we chose to open a microbrewery in Bigfork. The reasons are simple. Location: it's hard to beat drinking a world-class craft brew while enjoying a beautiful view of the Flathead Lake (our namesake); and water: it's some of the purest in the country, pulled from an artesian aquifer that's replenished by glacial melt. Our water, when used in conjunction with the highest-quality ingredients available, allows us to offer first class Montana-made ales.
In 2010, we added an additional goal: to provide our taproom patrons with the finest beer-inspired eats. With a focus on fresh, local ingredients, our head chef has developed a full menu of original recipes designed to showcase the finer qualities of the beers with which they're paired.
Recently, due to huge increases in popular demand, FLBC has decided on a 2013 expansion. We've purchased and are currently renovating the old bowling alley close to downtown Bigfork, MT. In this new location one will still be able to experience the amazing views of Flathead Lake. Even more importantly, the brewery will be able to increase and expand its production capabilities ten-fold. Montana's big sky is our limit.
