About Black Mountain Lodge is a wonderful venue for family gatherings, workshops, special events or those seeking a unique lodging option abundant with history and charm. This property has accommodations for 12 overnight guests. Cozy linens, soft towels, locally crafted bath soap and a variety of artistic touches enhance the quality of your stay. Black Mountain Lodge welcomes special events for an additional fee. (150 people maximum with a 3 day minimum reservation) A variety of hiking trails are located just out the front door along with inspiration for artistic expression (50 acres near Helena, Montana, surrounded by Nat'l Forest). For the more adventurous, guided horseback rides are available. Put your feet up, unwind and breathe free because the world has just slowed down to accommodate your pace for a change. Think blackbirds vs. Blackberries, vistas vs. videos and silence vs. sound-bites. The Lodge and Guest Cabins are elegant in their simplicity and sophisticated in their classic western charms. The timeless design and setting takes you back to a simpler life and time where the only important times were sunrise and sunset. The Lodge is the centerpiece of the property offering everything you’d expect in a classic country lodge setting. In the Great Room a large stone fireplace draws people together for warmth and evening conversation around a crackling fire. The dining area is the rallying point for hearty breakfasts and family banquets. Attached to the Lodge Great Room is a well-appointed country kitchen which entertains the cooks with windows overlooking the brook. Out the other side of The Great Room you enter the large screen-porch, which offers the best “wide screen” in the country bringing beautiful scenes of wildflowers and wildlife to your door. Here you can drink your morning coffee, read a book, catch a quiet afternoon nap or enjoy an evening cocktail. You may have to draw straws among guests to assign rooms, but no one will be disappointed with the choice they receive. Comfort, relaxation and charm await them in each of the Cabins and Lodge.
