About
Browning is the headquarters for the Blackfeet Nation. The Blackfeet Indian Reservation is 1.5 million acres of panoramic beauty and home to Montana's largest Indian Tribe by population. The land elevation varies from 3,400 feet to the east and over 9,000 feet at Chief Mountain to the west. It is the ideal vacation destination as it borders Glacier National Park to the east, and Alberta, Canada to the north. It is a summer and winter playground of hiking, camping, boating, fishing, hunting and much more. Visit the Blackfeet Heritage Center, Glacier Peaks Casino, Pikuni Gift Shop and the Museum of the Plains Indians. To get a unique glimpse of native culture, the ideal time to visit is during the annual North American Indian Days celebration which is held in Browning the second weekend in July, or Heart Butte Indian Days the second weekend in August.
