  • Downhill Ski Area
An expert's brand of thrills served up in a local's hangout, Discovery is a terrific find that will remind you what skiing in Montana is all about! The north-facing Limelight lift offers some of the steepest lift-served terrain around, while the variety of beginner and intermediate runs on the Anaconda and north-facing Granite lifts provide great skiing for all abilities. Easily reached from Missoula, Butte and Helena, we have beautiful views and uncrowded slopes with enough tree skiing, powder bowls, groomed trails and mogul runs for all tastes. One visit will make you a believer.

To our valued Guests and Employees, We regret to inform you that we will be closed for the season beginning March 22nd. After discussions today with our county government officials we decided that remaining open was longer in the best interest of our community and we voluntarily made the decision to end our ski season. The Granite County Health Dept. have been practical and supportive partners and we have worked together to develop solutions to continue operating over the past week. We want to thank them for that support and for the hard work they are doing to help our residents stay healthy and safe during the pandemic. Additionally we greatly appreciate the help of our wonderful staff over what has been a difficult season. We have some of the most intelligent, dedicated and thoughtful staff in the ski industry and Discovery Ski Area is the product of those employees' work. Thank you for all of the difficult days you have put in this season and there will undoubtedly be better ones in the future. We believe that although there will be some tough times ahead, our communities come out of this stronger and that a bright future lies ahead. We are already looking forward to seeing the first flakes and the subsequent smiling faces. Take care of each other, Discovery Ski Area Special Events
