Havre Great Weekend on the Hi-Line

Located In Central Montana

Milk River

The bad news: Havre's heyday as a rollicking, lawless Western town is over.

The good news: you can still check out opium dens, speakeasies and brothels (safely and legally) at the Havre Beneath the Streets Underground Tour. Then hit the Frank DeRosa Railroad Museum for more history. Check out the Blaine County Museum in Chinook, a stop on the Montana Dinosaur Trail which also serves as the interim visitor center for the Bear Paw Battlefield part of the Nez Perce National Historic Park.

Want to explore the outside adventures? Beaver Creek Park crawls with trails for hiking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling, while Fresno Reservoir boasts toothy Northern Pike. End your day's adventure devouring an Ugly Burger at Rod's Drive Inn. Before you retire to mom-n-pop Hi Line Motel for the night, squeeze in a final history lesson at the historic Palace Bar, featuring the oldest back bar in Montana.
