Located In Yellowstone Country
Red Lodge is one of those charming Montana towns that leads to adventure right outside its back door. Maybe you just stop for a burger at Red Box Car. Or you might stroll through the historic downtown, where Buffalo Bill Cody, Calamity Jane and Sundance Kid once roamed and pop into a gallery or two. Make sure you make a quick trip to the Montana Candy Emporium.
Seal the deal with a pint (and maybe a tour) at Red Lodge Ales Brewery or grab a pizza from Red Lodge Pizza Co. Work it off skiing at Red Lodge Mountain, wandering through the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary or cross-country skiing at the Red Lodge Nordic Center. Relax at the Yodeler Hotel and its steam sauna showers or stay at the historic Pollard Hotel. When you must leave, resolve to return: after Memorial Day, when the spectacular Beartooth All-American Road opens for a 3-hour scenic drive to Yellowstone National Park's northeast entrance.
