Project Approach and Timeline

To develop the resiliency plan, Coraggio Group uses a 3-phase process: Get Clear, Get Focused, Get Moving. The project is currently at the end of the Get Clear phase. Over the last several months, Coraggio Group has gathered stakeholder perspectives and insights through surveys, one-on-one interviews and virtual and in-person town hall listening sessions. Focused plan development will occur in the summer and fall of 2023.

Project Phases

Phase 1: Get Clear (Fall 2022 & Winter 2023)

The Get Clear phase sets the stage for a successful planning process by aligning on key project goals, identifying planning inputs, setting baselines and understanding current circumstances. The results of this phase are 6 Market Assessment Reports and a Statewide Situation Assessment Report.

Completed Tasks:

  • 7 kick-off/immersion sessions
  • Examination of existing research
  • Visitor and resident sentiment research
  • Stakeholder and staff survey
  • Asset mapping and infrastructure assessments
  • Resilience assessments
  • 1:1 stakeholder interviews
  • Regional town hall summits
  • Draft theme read-out/regional feedback sessions
  • Situation Assessment and Market Assessment Reports

Phase 2: Get Focused (Summer & Fall 2023)

In the Get Focused phase, Coraggio Group will use everything they learned in the Get Clear phase to shape the key elements of the Montana Resiliency Plan. This includes identifying action items and investment priorities at the regional and statewide levels. Coraggio Group continues to collaborate with the local community task forces, in tandem with the Montana Department of Commerce, Brand MT and the Statewide Steering Committee, to coordinate this phase of work.

Phase 3: Get Moving (Winter 2023-2024)

Get Moving is the implementation phase of the strategic planning work. Once Coraggio Group finalizes the plan, the Montana Department of Commerce will lead implementation efforts across the state.
