Crow Agency is the headquarters of the Crow Indian Reservation and is close to the Bighorn Recreation Area and Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. The battlefield includes visitor center, museum, Custer National Cemetery, 7th Cavalry Memorial and Reno-Benteen Battlefield. The battle is reenacted each June. Crow Agency becomes the 'teepee capital of the world' in mid-August during the Crow Fair celebration.

NO ENTRANCE FEES
Entrance to Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument will be free on June 25, 26, and 27.
PARKING AND ACCESS
• All visitor parking will be located off-site, with free shuttle service transporting visitors to and from the battlefield.
• The park will be closed to regular vehicle traffic during the event. Shuttle buses will operate throughout the day between parking areas, the main event venue, and key battlefield locations.
• The park will be closed Monday through Wednesday during the week of the Anniversary. Before and after the event, the park will only be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument will return to a seven-day operating schedule beginning July 3, 2026.
• Please note that there will be no public access to the battlefield in the days immediately before and after the event while event infrastructure is being installed and removed.
• With multiple events occurring throughout the region during the Anniversary weekend, including Native Days, community celebrations, and other commemorative activities, visitors should anticipate heavy traffic and travel delays and plan accordingly.
OUTDOOR CONDITIONS
• All Anniversary programming will take place outdoors. The new visitor center remains under construction and will not be open during the event.
• Visitors should be prepared for summer weather conditions, including sun, heat, wind, and rapidly changing weather. We recommend bringing sunscreen, hats, protective clothing, and other weather-appropriate gear. Shade tents will be available in designated areas.
• Hydration stations will be available throughout the event. Visitors are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles.
• Food service will not be available within the park. The nearest food options will be located in Hardin and Crow Agency.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Battle of the Little Bighorn reenactments will be held on private property and will not take place within Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.
We appreciate the tremendous support and collaboration from Tribal Nations, descendants, partner organizations, community members, and the public as we prepare for this historic commemoration. If your Tribe, organization, drum group, color guard, or cultural program would like to participate, please contact us as soon as possible so we can incorporate those activities into the final schedule.
Hosted by the Real Bird Family, the 34th Annual Battle of the Little Bighorn Reenactment will be held at 1 pm daily June 26-28, 2026, on the 150th Anniversary of "Custer's Last Stand." The Reenactment is located just south of Crow Agency, MT, and between the historic points of Custer's Last Stand Hill, Reno's Charge / Retreat, and Reno - Benteen Battlefield. Held at Medicine Tail Coulee and Minneconjou Ford, this is where Custer's Battalion was closest to the village and where E and F Troops were sent to attack the Indian village.
Only here will you see Native American riders riding bareback portraying warriors of the Sioux, Cheyenne and Crow tribes. No whites riding as braves! You will see them and Cavalry riders crash across the Little Bighorn River as was done on June 25th. 7th Cavalry Riders will wear the appropriate attire of troops on the plains with McClellan saddles/gear.

Crow Fair exists as a living celebration of Apsáalooke (Crow) culture, bringing together community members, families, and visitors from near and far to honor time-honored traditions, strengthen cultural identity, and pass heritage to future generations through shared experiences and intergenerational learning. It serves as a space for kinship, generosity, and respect—values reflected in its circle of teepees, vibrant parades, traditional dances, storytelling, and the exchange of knowledge, artistry, and history that keep the spirit of the Crow people alive and thriving.
