For vertical water, follow the Morrell Falls National Recreation Trail near Seeley Lake to Morrell Falls, a spectacular 90-foot, double cascade, Hold bugs like the kid-friendly, blue eath-feigning beetles at the Butterfly House and Insectarium in Missoula, then stop by the city's Smokejumper Visitor Center to learn about the daring souls who parachute in to fight forest fires. For a less perilous journey, hike the Lake Como Loop Trail near Darby. The 7.9-mile route is good for all skill levels and features a waterfall.
