About
Blue Mountain B&B is nestled on the mountainside among majestic ponderosa pines and meditative water gardens, creating a uniquely tranquil experience just minutes away from Missoula's business, sporting and cultural centers. The Inn and gardens offer a breathtaking, birds-eye view of the Bitterroot River, surrounding mountains and valley below, including part of the historic Lewis and Clark Trail. We offer history tours and nature hikes as well as horseback riding if you bring your own horses.
Elegant breakfasts and private rooms offer guests luxury and comfort, complementing the rustic, wooded surroundings of Blue Mountain. Rooms have private baths with jetted tubs, king or queen bed, picturesque views and many amenities that make one's stay both memorable and relaxing.
With just four private rooms and twenty acres of wildlife habitat immediately adjacent to National Forest, Blue Mountain B&B gives each guest a special sense of privacy, while creating a home for many native birds, chipmunks and other animals. It is truly the perfect mountain retreat offering comfort, convenience, beauty and a sense of warm, casual elegance to the vacationer and business traveler alike.
The Inn:
The Lewis and Clark Lodge facility is a three story log building that welcomes guests upon arrival to Blue Mountain B&B, perfect for small family reunions or conferences. The spacious, top floor allows guests to enjoy a magnificent view of the Bitterroot River and Missoula Valley while curling up with a good book, watching a movie, or playing a variety of games. The room offers guests an opportunity to learn more about Western topics through a wide selection of historical books, novels, regional information and family heirlooms.
The middle floor of the lodge is reserved for two private guest rooms, The Sagebrush Suite and The Bitterroot Room.
Hawk Hill House, the main facility, lies a short distance from the Lodge. The Syringa Suite and Rose Room are located in the main house. The house stands on top of a spectacular forested overlook, allowing for dining and living room views of the valley floor and Sapphire Mountains to the east, as well as a nestled-in view of the hillside, pond and waterfall to the west.
Picture windows in every guest room and common area of the house look out over the mountains and gardens, luring a person to go hiking, sit on the patio, or enjoy the out of doors from inside while reading a good book or listening to the old player piano.
The kitchen, living and dining areas are on the main floor of the home while a study, library and two guest rooms, The Syringa Suite and Rose Room, are on the upper level.
