About
The Libby Ranger Station is located 13 miles north of Libby on Highway 37, approximately 4 miles southwest of Libby Dam. Before the recent consolidation between Libby and Fisher River Ranger Districts, Libby Ranger Station was located on the outskirts of Libby, just north of the Kootenai River. Numerous lakes are available throughout the District and offer excellent opportunities for camping, fishing, and water sports. Ninety-mile-long Lake Koocanusa houses an outstanding kokanee salmon fishery, and McGregor Lake, 32 miles east of Kalispell, is host to a prime Mackinaw trout population. Turner Mountain Ski Area offers downhill skiing, and Libby Creek boasts of a recreational gold panning area. For visitor information, the office is open weekdays 8:00am to 4:30pm. Elevation: 2130 feet. Township 30 N, Range 29W, Section 18 Area Map: Kootenai National Forest Visitors Map USGS Map1: Tony Peak
