The town of Hamilton is the central trade area for hundreds of small farms, ranches and orchards that fill the valley. Hamilton is home to the Daly Mansion built in the late 1800s for Marcus Daly, one of Montana's colorful "Copper Kings." Ravalli County Museum is located in the original Ravalli County Courthouse built in 1900. Saved from the wrecker's ball in 1979, it is now listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings and considered one of the finest museums for a town of this size.

Taking place September 4–5, 2026, this high-energy event brings together top competitors from across the region for two unforgettable nights under the arena lights in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley.
Guests can expect all the classic rodeo action—from adrenaline-pumping bull riding and bronc riding to fast-paced barrel racing and team roping. Whether you’re a lifelong rodeo fan or experiencing it for the first time, the atmosphere is electric, with cheering crowds, local food vendors, and that authentic small-town Montana feel you won’t find anywhere else.
Held at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds, the rodeo is included with fair admission, making it an easy and exciting addition to your Labor Day weekend plans.

In honor of our veterans, the Ravalli County Museum hosts an annual Veteran’s Day Observance Ceremony & Program by the American Legion. All are welcome to attend! A flag ceremony and laying of wreaths (anyone can contribute a wreath) at the Doughboy monument on Museum grounds are followed by a gun salute and a program on the second floor of the Museum.
