About The Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center keeps stories alive! Highlighting the natural and cultural history of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument and Upper Missouri River. The lobby of the interpretive center provides boating information for those floating the river. The classroom provides viewing of our film White Cliffs, Wild River and also showcases a scale model of the entire 149-mile river corridor. View Chief Josephs' surrender rifle, relinquished after a 1,170mi race to freedom by members of the Nez Perce tribe from Army control. A life-size replica Murphy Freight Wagon, used to take shipments arriving on steamboats at Fort Benton's levee to points as far as Walla Walla WA, Bannack, and Fort Whoop-up in Canada.
