About Boulder River Snowmobile Trail is fairly easy to follow with signs. Cooperative operation with Sweet Grass Recreation Association and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Parking capacity varies but is not usually a problem. Limited play area adjacent to designated wilderness. Groomed intermittently. Forest Service rental cabin at Fourmile. Length: 16 miles marked trail. Moderate use. Trail Begins: 40 miles southwest of Big Timber Trail Ends: Wilderness Boundary Area Map: Gallatin National Forest Visitor Map

SPECIAL DIRECTIONS Boulder River Snowmobile Trail is south of Big Timber in the Main Boulder Valley. Take Highway 298 south for 25 miles to the Natural Bridge area. Continue south on the Main Boulder gravel county road to approximately Camp Mimanagish church camp. This will vary with snow depth and drifting. Snowmobile south to the Independence/Monument area.
