About
Knife Point Trail (542), from the dispersed campsite at the lower trailhead, parallels Knife Gulch for 0.3 mile and then switchbacks out of the Big Creek Canyon up a steep ridge between Good Creek and Knife Gulch. The grade becomes more gradual for 0.5 mile of the trail but continues to climb up to the Boulder Creek Road. Length: 2.5 miles. Light use, moderate difficulty. SPECIAL DIRECTIONS
From Highway 37, cross Koocanusa Bridge (15 miles south of Eureka) and proceed south on FDR 228 for 8 miles to the Junction with Big Creek Road 336. Turn and follow 4.8 miles to the lower trailhead.
