About
Sheep Creek Trail (127) starts 0.5 mile north of Independence and travel to Hellroaring Divide. It ascends a ridge between Sheep Creek and Copper Creek and traverses its length to the Divide, providing scenic views. It provides access to Hellroaring Creek on the Gardiner Ranger District. The trail is steep and rocky near top. Length: 4.2 miles. Wilderness, moderate difficulty, medium use. SPECIAL DIRECTIONS
Sheep Creek Trail is located 25 miles south of Big Timber on Highway 298, then 25 miles south on County Road 212. Access may be limited in spring, fall and winter due to snow.
