About Stanton Creek Trail offers outstanding and seldom seen views of Glacier National Park, the rugged Middle Fork Divide, and Hungry Horse Reservoir. Hike up the Stanton Creek Trail and continue past Stanton Lake, staying on the north side of the creek. A couple of miles past the lake you enter a cirque basin and should be able to view Great Northern Mountain. Staying north of the creek, hike to the Middle Fork Divide and on up the divide to Great Northern Mountain. Length: 7 miles Trail Begins: Highway 2, Five miles Southeast of Nyack Trail Ends: Stanton Creek, Section 10 Area Map: Flathead Forest Visitor Map USGS Map1: Stanton Lake Township 31N; Range 17W; Section 36
