About
Howard Lake Campground is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. At an elevation of 4,111 feet to 4,128 feet. The campground has 10 sites (3 pull thru's) including one host site with tables and fire rings. Camground roads and parking spurs are gravel. Amentities include potable water, vault toilets and swimming beach. There are 2 day use sites with fire rings and picnic tables near the beach area.
The camphost closes the gate to the campground each evening at 10:00 pm and opens it again at 7:00 am. The gate closes for the season on December 1st and is opened again when access permits.
Fishing, swimming, and boating may be enjoyed; there is a boat launch. Scenic trails are provided for hiking. Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on leashes. The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 20 feet. Please limit stay to 14 days. A fee is required for the use of this campground.

SPECIAL DIRECTIONS
From Libby, travel 12 miles south on US Highway 2 and turn onto Libby Creek Road 231. Follow this road for 14 miles to the campground sign.
