About
McGillivray Campground is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana at an elevation of 2,559 feet. The site is just 7 miles above Libby Dam and adjacent to Lake Koocanusa. This is the spot to get away from it all; something for everyone. There are 33 campsites near picnic shelters and a swimming beach at the lake. Fishing and boating are among the activities to be enjoyed. Amenities include potable water, vault toilets, swimming beach, pavilions and a fully developed boat ramp with dock. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed. The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 32 feet. Please limit stay to 14 days. A fee is required for the use of this campground. Special attractions include: 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa), fishing access, high- and low-water boat ramps, swimming beach (no lifeguard), nature trail, group site with 12 covered picnic tables (electrical hookups available; picnickers supply own generator), sinks, large fireplace, flush toilets, fire places, covered kitchen, ample parking, horseshoe pits, softball field, hiking loop trail.

From Libby, travel 14 miles northeast on State Highway 37. Turn west on FDR 228 and follow for 10 miles to the site.
