About
Length: 2.0 miles
Trail Beginning: Forest Road 465
Trail End: Dinah Lake
Lake Dinah Trail #12 leads to a small lake, good for fishing and swimming. The trail begins at Lake Elsina, climbs a short distance and then gradually descends to the southwestern edge of Lake Dinah. Several suitable campsites are available at both lakes. The area is known to have played host to moose, deer, elk, mountain lion and bear. Lake Dinah reportedly supports some large cutthroat trout and can offer a very cool dip on a hot summer afternoon. A beautiful view of the Seeley Lake Valley is seen from the trail on your approach to Lake Dinah. Wildflowers bloom a little later in the summer at this higher elevation.
The Lake Dinah Trail and surrounding area is closed to motorized vehicles year long. The last mile of access road to the trailhead is rough and may be difficult to traverse. Use of low clearance vehicles is not advised. The trail traverses primarily subalpine habitat forest. Come prepared with mosquito repellent too! No developed water source is available at Lake Elsina or Lake Dinah.
