Snowmobiling to the top of Big Mountain can start at the front door. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling opportunities are nearly endless in winter. A 20 minute ride will get you to Whitefish Mountain Resort, formerly Big Mountain, where world class downhill skiers gather. Summer affords limitless recreational activities all within easy driving distance. Glacier National Park is a beautiful 30 minute drive. Views from the great room and all bedrooms are of Big Mountain through the forest where wildlife abounds. Solitude and peacefulness will surround you as you cozy up to a stone fireplace with wood burning insert as the Montana weather encircles you. Spacious living areas make plenty of room for fun and relaxation both indoors and out. Large deck with BBQ offer summer oportunities. Only 12 miles north of Whitefish this mountain home is close to all the area has to offer. 50 miles North and you'll be in Canada. Amtrak's "Empire Builder" stops in Whitefish daily. Car rentals are available from Hertz at the station. Roads are fully plowed in winter and conventional vehicles seldom have difficulty. (However, heavy snows can happen!)
