About The StoneHouse at Duck Lake is a unique property built by Montana songwriter, David Walburn, as an exclusive retreat for outdoor enthusiasts and the eco-minded traveler. It is a private residence that is nestled between Montana's finest panoramic views of Glacier National Park, Chief Mountain, (sacred among the Blackfeet Tribe, standing alone at an impressive 9,080'in elevation) across to the open vistas of the Cut Bank Plains. The wildlife is over the top! Loons, elk, moose, bear, grebe, sage grouse, hawks, badgers, American pelican, owls, foxes, wolves.... well, you get the idea. The StoneHouse was designed and built using green building materials to enhance its durability and energy efficiency against the wild eastern Montana climate. After a day of outdoor adventure, come inside to the warmth of a wood stove with an artistic hearth taking center stage. The StoneHouse has two bedrooms each equipped with Queen-Size beds. One bedroom has an additional built in bunk bed for 2 more single sleepers ( kids or adults! ) and there is also a bonus loft in the common room that can sleep up to 2. There is a full sized bathroom with soaker tub and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances; refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and kitchen range. We have all the kitchen amenities to create a wonderful meal for family and friends. The owner, David Walburn, is an excellent resource for information on Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. He is happy to share his knowledge of Montana, fishing, hunting, songwriting, bow building, or anything else he can share to make your stay here more enjoyable.
