About Our Garden Cottage is within walking distance of two public beaches, boat docks, popular restaurants plus a pub/brewery and a local grocery store. The Cottage is nestled in a quiet garden setting with a covered deck with a B-B-Q. We offer a cool shaded respite for a couple on vacation to Flathead Lake. A complete kitchen with micro-wave oven, TV and queen size feather bed. Shower/bath combo and large vanity in bathroom. All bedding and bath linens are included and a well supplied kitchen with dishwasher, frig with ice maker and full size stove and micro-wave oven. Lakeside has a local boat rental shop renting ski boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats and SeaDoo watercrafts. Two fishing charters depart from Lakeside giving you a chance to reel in one of the large and abundant Lake Trout (current record is 42-pounds) from the crystal clear waters of Flathead Lake. Bring your own boat; there is a public boat launch in Lakeside. Flathead Lake is always refreshing on a hot day; we have two public beaches in Lakeside for you to enjoy. You can take a drive to the top of Blacktail ski area for an unobstructed 360 degree view of the Flathead Valley, lakes and the surrounding mountain ranges. Blacktail Mountain also offers trails for hiking and biking. In late summer it is a great place to pick wild huckleberries. At the Dock's in Lakeside you can enjoy a meal on the waterfront. Tamarack brewery produces some of the finest hand crafted ales in the state. The creek side patio is the perfect place to have dinner and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. With a short drive you can explore Glacier National Park, hike to a glacier, see wild-life up-close and see amazing views from the Going-To-The-Sun Highway. At the Big Mountain resort in Whitefish you can take a Zip line tour, grab a sled and race down the Alpine Slide. Experience a fun adventure in the forest from an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy or a scenic lift ride to the summit. Bigfork is a picturesque village within a 20 minute drive, home to world class art galleries, fine restaurants and unique shops in a quaint Western setting. The Bigfork Summer Playhouse has been celebrated as one of the Northwest's finest repertory theaters. Bigfork is also home to the Eagle Bend Golf Course which has been rated as one of the most challenging and beautiful golf courses in the nation.
